閱讀所有已發表的文章！儘管我自己拼湊出來的東西往往偏向愚蠢的那面，但事情也並不總是如此。IndustryStandard的燈具故事通常更為內省也離開了愚蠢路線。由於該系列對不同的想法與設備保持開放態度，因此你的創作發展空間相當足夠。只要先閱讀其他作品，你就會知道目前已經存在的內容了。
想想看如何擴展「家用品活過來了」這樣的基本點子。這可以透過SCP、故事或任何你想拼湊的東西來實現。沒錯，家用品活過來這個點子本身就很有趣了，但家用品大戰爭系列很大一部分更著重在那之後的事情。對某些人來說，這通常是革命和反擊的故事，但是否所有的家用品都厭惡自身的存在？本系列在什麼是「家用品」的定義方面非常寬鬆──基本上就是根據具體情況決定的，這也導出了第三件事：

本系列樂意接受任何點子與家用品，但有些已經在現有家用品大戰爭情節中發揮相當具體的作用──並不是說你就不能使用，但如果你要使用的話，你應該考慮它如何與已經完成的內容相容。

微波爐、烤箱、烤土司機在廚房系列中已經作為鋼鐵子嗣存在，明確地基於信仰出現在故事當中。它們的故事主要圍繞著它們如何與名為尼爾的初級研究員互動，以及以非常規形式呈現的破碎之神教會互動。
馬桶與坐浴桶在SCP-7939開始的革命故事情節中，圍繞著名為「便所」的神祕馬桶，以及它對人類（主要是基金會）進行令人難以置信的破壞政變。這並非與馬桶有關的宗教戰爭，而是關於它是否應該……被裝在浴室的問題。它們是目前主要團體中相對危險的組織。
燈具在 IndustryStandard的系列作品中已經有半計畫好的內容，最好能先跟他討論看看。
